About the Presenter

Sara Drew

RN, Nurse Educator

Sara Drew is an experienced Registered Nurse with extensive background in primary health care, immunisation, chronic disease management and IPC nursing. For the past 18 years of her career, Sara has worked in a variety of leadership, management, educator and clinical roles within Primary Health and Education to support the PHC workforce. She presents regularly at both international and national conferences. Sara joined APNA in June 2021 as the Programs Solutions Manager-Leadership, Education and Support. Within her role she manages the Victorian IPC Helpline and other education programs for nurses. 

 

Sara is passionate about supporting and strengthening the role of primary healthcare nurses, through workforce development and education, and raising the profile of PHC nursing with undergraduate nurses. 

 

Sara holds a Grad Cert in Infection Prevention and Control through Griffith University and is a member of the RACGP Technical Working Group-Infection prevent and control, participating in the recent review of the IPC guidelines for general practices and other office-based and community-based practices. She is an accredited Nurse Immuniser with a strong interest in public health and holds a current Cert IV in Training and Assessment (TAE40116).
